Applying for NACES® Membership
NACES® member organizations demonstrate a high level of expertise in the evaluation of
foreign educational documents, maintain a significant professional involvement in
such organizations as NAFSA: Association of International Educators and the American
Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), and have an
extensive, current reference library containing pertinent resources regarding foreign
educational systems and credentials. Organizations
qualify for membership by fulfilling member criteria, including:
The organization must be
private and independent.
The organization must have a current library
of standard references in the field of international education with an emphasis on
credentials evaluation.
Its senior evaluators (i.e., those making
decisions concerning the equivalence of foreign educational qualifications to education in
the United States) must have not less than five years of full-time substantive, supervised
experience in foreign student admissions or foreign credential evaluation work covering
all levels of education.
Its evaluators must be active members of
relevant professional organizations and must share their expertise and the results of
research with professional colleagues via conference presentations, workshops,
publications, or training sessions.
Staff members must follow the
NACES®
standards of professional ethics.

Applying for membership
NACES® membership is offered only after a rigorous screening and selection procedure has
been completed. Organizations interested in applying for NACES®
membership should
write to the NACES® Membership Chair and request an application. Please contact the Membership Chair regarding the deadline for the submission of applications. Applications are reviewed at the
NACES® Annual Meeting the following year.
